This cache is part of the Ghost Train series of caches along the route of the old Milford to Manchester Railroad. We've long been intrigued by the Milford and Manchester Railroad that was only in use for a few short years. This is the 24th cache we've placed in the series, a list of which can be found at the bookmark:Ghost Train Series
For a long time the very fun "Out On A Limb" cache and its "Redo" were near here, but the old Milford to Manchester railroad did come by here and then head into Manchester, so I figured it would be okay to place one of the Ghost Train caches here. This old railroad bed is part of the Goffstown Rail Trail. The Milford to Manchester Railroad turned south just a short distance away and at least for the first part followed where the Route 114 road is now.
At certain times of the day this trail gets a lot of traffic. You'll likely need to be quick or use your ninja techniques to be able to retrieve the container and sign the log. A ghillie suit would be helpful if you have one...although to be honest that might draw even more attention. :)
A bit more information on the railroad (owned by the Boston and Maine Railroad) can be found here:
