Geocache Description:

In the spirit of the Hall of Fame caches, I offer you the Bell Bluff Invitational. Find all the caches on the trails leading up to and near Bell Bluff Peak and be immortalized on this web page as having completed this challenge.

This cache is a traditional without any additional logging requirements, so feel free to log your find whether or not you complete the challenge. Anything that is disabled or archived does not need to be found to claim your achievement. Post a note on this cache page when you have completed the challenge and we'll add your name on this cache page. This will all be on the honor system, so play fair and have fun.

The list of caches to find are listed in the Bell Bluff Invitational Bookmark List on the right side of this page. I will remove archived caches from the list but will retain disabled caches pending a final resolution from the cache owner(s).

Don't be fooled by the low number of caches in this challenge. Whereas getting to this cache is relatively easy, getting to Bell Bluff Peak is going to test your resolve and physical abilities as you wade through thick brush and scramble over boulders. No special equipment is needed to climb the peak, but pants, long-sleeve shirt and gloves are strongly recommended. The good thing is that the peak is a relatively short 600-700 foot elevation climb, and the heavy bush whacking is only about 150 feet thick, depending at which point you decide to start climbing. Go with a buddy or two and take your time. You will prevail.

Study the background photo of this webpage. I took it from another website (follow the Related Web Link) and it is close to the last route I took in January with my canine companion. We went up a bit to the right to avoid some brush but it involved more verticle climbing. Next time I go up, I will avoid that by taking this other route. Also look up Duncan's log from 2009. He recorded tracks which you can download from everytrail.com. Have fun up there!
