How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

ajbenn and wandercat have provided a very large container to give all those extra large travel bugs a rest from their adventures.  Cromwell, originally known as the Junction, is the point where the road from the West Coast meets the highway over the Lindis Pass.  Put another way, the roads from Christchurch, Queenstown, Dunedin and the West Coast converge at this point.

The cache is located beside State Highway 6.  The cache container is a camouflaged 10 L pail.  ajbenn and wandercat invite cachers to drop off travel bugs and geocoins and pick up another travel bug or geocoin.  The aim is to keep the travellers moving and we hope the TRAVEL BUG HOTEL will cater for short term visits only.

Of course any cacher can visit and sign the log.

State Highway 6 is a busy road and a cross country footpath meets the highway at this point.  Please watch carefully for pedestrians.   The cache has been placed with permission from the property owner and there is a cache guardian, plus another geocacher, on site most days.  It is not necessary to enter the property.
