Geocache Description:

Valeport Marsh is a large wetland at the southend of Last Mountain Lake, covering the valley bottom along side Highway 20 as it heads Northwest of Craven.

Small islands were created for nesting habitat for waterfowl.  Channels within the marsh were also dredged and meanders south of the marsh.

A large dike intersects the marsh and is widely used by birdwatchers & fishermen.  It is nothing to see as many as half a dozen vehicles here on a weekend.  Many birds are seen here - canvas backs, pelicans, grebes, diving & puddle ducks, herons, raptors and many marsh songbirds.

This is a wonderful, peaceful place to come for a walk and enjoy all the birds and wildlife.  The path is a pretty easy walk, flat, but some growth.

You are looking for a camoed lock & lock.  Please replace it right back where we placed it.  BYOP!

Enjoy your walk!
