The 2nd Annual Sandhill Cleanup
Last fall and spring SWAG took on a great CITO project and cleared the overgrown Sandhill cemetery. Now, at the beginning of fall we need to continue the maintenance by clearing this year’s growth and doing a general cleanup of the grounds.
There should not be any ‘heavy lifting’ required this go around. The chainsaws have done their work. Weed eaters will be needed for sure. Also any gardening tools such as hoes, rakes, shovels and such will come in handy. The blackberries and briars are trying to make a comeback but are nothing compared to what they were before.
We will meet at 10:30 for the CITO. It shouldn’t take more than a couple hours to finish the job if we have enough hands.
There will be an event in Granite after the CITO. We will take a break and let folks do some caching in the area in then meet up for the event.
Long pants, gloves and maybe long sleeves would be the best option to wear for the cleanup. The weather should not be too hot or too cold but please dress appropriately. Also bring some water as there is none on site.
Let’s make this a big success. This is a project we can all take pride in. Please help spread the word and let’s have a great turn out.
