Geocache Description:

A series of caches in a nice bit of countryside, lots of good views and a walk to enjoy.
The full walk is 5.19 miles, thank you Zeus.

The proposed Trent and Mersey Canal was seen as a threat by the Trustees of the Navigation, for it ran parallel to the River Weaver for some distance near Anderton.
The first known idea for the canal was in 1755, with the final plan enacted by Parliament in 1766 and the canal actually opened in 1771.

This cache is at the start of a PF off the lane that crosses over the canal.
If you wish to complete more in the series you will need to rejoin the towpath when you are ready

The cache is a nano tube.
Please bring something to sign the log.

Congratulations to BIG ISH for being FTF on 9th August 2013.
