LavaLizard: We reviewers typically operate under the assumption that adequate permission exists to place a cache unless circumstances suggest otherwise. This was the circumstance under which the cache was published.
In reviewing the situation, we now have reason to doubt that adequate permission for the placement of this cache was properly obtained from the Board of Airport Commissioners (who acts as the land manager over this location) and I am, therefore, archiving this cache listing to remove it from search pages.
In this day and age, please be aware that airports -- especially large ones like LAX -- are considered to be highly sensitive areas. Activities such as geocaching may not be compatible with the security situation of such areas. As the guidelines state: Geocaches may be archived if the cache is problematic due to its proximity to a public structures, including and not limited to, highway bridges, major roadways, dams, government buildings, schools, military installations, hospitals, airports and other such locations.
If you would like to contact me regarding this cache, please do so via my profile page: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?guid=322f7189-2996-4774-9484-c0f4e6be6059 . Be sure to include the GC code in your message.
If the issues that led its archival can be resolved, it may be possible to unarchive this cache.
Thank you for your contributions to geocaching.
