Geocache Description:

Roeselare à vélo
Als ‘Hart van West-Vlaanderen’ wordt Roeselare gezien als centraal vertrekpunt om fietsend de hele provincie te ontdekken. Vergeet echter niet dat Roeselare zelf het ook waard is om met de fiets te ontdekken. De stad is dooraderd met tal van gemeentelijke en provinciale bewegwijzerde fietsroutes. Je ontdekt niet alleen het bruisende en dynamische stadscentrum, maar ook een oase van groen en rust op slechts enkele kilometers buiten het centrum. Deze cache leert u de stad een beetje kennen. Hij leidt u door het centrum, langs gekende en minder gekende monumenten en brengt u naar de rustiger en groener delen van de stad.

De fietstocht is ongeveer 18 km lang. U fietst zowel door het centrum als op rustiger wegen, op de weg en op fietspaden. Op verschillende plaatsen zijn auto’s niet toegelaten, dus we raden dan ook aan uw stalen ros van stal te halen en alle andere vervoersmiddelen thuis te laten. Tijdens de tocht worden u op verschillende plaatsen vragen gesteld. De oplossing op deze vragen zal u helpen bij het bepalen van de cachelocatie. OPGELET! Op bovenstaande coördinaten kunt u parkeren. Hou er echter wel rekening mee dat deze parking zich in een blauwe zone bevindt waar u maar 3 u. mag parkeren. In enkele van de omliggende straten geldt deze blauwe zone niet.
Navigatie Om te navigeren door en rond de stad hebben we 5 vaste punten gecreëerd. Deze punten heten Ca&co1, Ca&co2, Ca&co3... Tijdens uw tocht wordt af en toe naar deze punten verwezen om gebouwen aan te duiden of richtingaanwijzingen te geven. Bijvoorbeeld: Terwijl u rechtdoor rijdt in een bepaalde richting, zal u gevraagd worden om naar links te gaan op het ogenblik dat Ca&co2 zich op 80° van u bevindt.

	Start hier uw tocht maar beantwoord eerst volgende vraag. Op de achterkant van dit monument neem je het laatste cijfer. Zet dit om naar een letter. Deze letter komt overeen met X4. X4=
	Rij de Bruanestraat in.
	Neem de tweede straat rechts.
	Neem de eerste straat links.
	Ga rechts het pad in tegenover de grote boom.
	Rij tot aan het einde van dit pad en beantwoord de volgende vraag. Zoek op dit bord de eerste letter van de familienaam van de ontwerper. Deze letter komt overeen met X1. X1=
	Rij de straat op naar rechts.
	Als Ca&co2 zich op 268° van u bevindt, steek de straat over en rij rechtdoor.
	Ga op het einde van de straat naar links.
	Ga op het einde van deze straat naar rechts.
	Stop als Ca&co1 zich op 153° van u bevindt. Hier heb je de voorlaatste letter nodig van de eerste initiatiefnemer. Deze letter komt overeen met X7. X7=
	Vervolg uw weg en neem de derde straat links.
	Volg op het einde van de straat het fietspad tot onder de brug en sla linksaf. Volg het fietspad zodat de weg rechts van u ligt.
	Als Ca&co3 zich op 78° van u bevindt, sla rechtsaf. Blijf dit fietspad volgen, ook na de helling.
	Ga op het einde van het fietspad linksaf maar los eerst de volgende vraag op. Zoek het aantal letters van de jongens die naar SCHOOL N°1 gaan en zit dit getal om naar een letter. Deze letter komt overeen met X3. X3=
	Vervolg uw weg volgens de geldende verkeersreglementen en stop als Ca&co5 zich op 51° van u bevindt. Welk dier vind je op het dak van de apotheek? Haas? D=3 en X10=K Everzwijn? D=4 en X10=Q Hert? D=5 en X10=C
	Vervolg uw weg en neem de eerste straat rechts.
	Als Ca&co4 zich op 162° van u bevindt, sla linksaf, het kleine straatje in.
	Neem de derde straat rechts.
	Neem de vierde straat links (let op, klein straatje inbegrepen!). Welke ambacht vind je hier (tip: op de gevel)? Zet de naam van deze ambacht om in cijfers, herleid tot één cijfer en verminder met 1. Dit cijfer komt overeen met H. H=
	Rij direct links het fietspad op, laat het water rechts liggen.
	Ga links aan het einde van het fietspad.
	Neem de tweede straat links (smal straatje). Onderweg kwam je een bekend persoon tegen. De klinker die éénmaal voorkomt in zijn familienaam geeft je X2. X2= Tel al de cijfers van de jaartallen onder de familienaam op en zet om naar 1 cijfer. Dit komt overeen met E. E=
	Neem de eerste straat rechts.
	Sla voor de brug over het water linksaf, het fietspad op.
	Ga op het einde van het fietspad naar rechts.
	Neem de eerste straat links.
	Ga linksaf aan de ‘rust’plaats. Tel onderweg de witte kruisjes op de poorten van die plaats. Deel dit getal door twee en zet de uitkomst om naar een letter. Die letter komt overeen met X11. X11=
	Neem de eerste straat rechts.
	Ga rechtdoor tot aan het jaartal, zoals op deze foto.
	Sla linksaf.
	Steek de straat over en laat het bijzonder kledingstuk links liggen.
	Blijf deze straat volgen.
	Neem de eerste afslag op de rotonde.
	Ga rechtdoor aan de lichten. Welke tekst staat in het kunstwerk aan uw rechterkant? Zet deze tekst om tot 1 cijfer. De letter die overeenkomt met dit cijfer geeft je X9. X9=
	Als Ca&co1 zich op 107° van u bevindt, sla linksaf, het pad op.
	Volg de Jempi Monseréroute.
	Als Ca&co1 zich op 83° van u bevindt, blijf rechtdoor rijden.
	Neem de eerste straat links.
	Neem de tweede rechts en ga daarna direct weer naar rechts. Pas op, het fietspad bevindt zich aan de linkerkant van de weg!
	Stop als Ca&co1 zich op 41° van u bevindt. Neem de letter die tweemaal na elkaar voorkomt in de naam van het domein aan uw rechterkant. Deze letter komt overeen met X5. X5=
	Sla links het pad in langs het water.
	Sla linksaf aan het einde van het pad.
	Neem de derde afslag op de rotonde.
	Als Ca&co1 zich op 40° van u bevindt, neem het pad rechts.
	Rij aan het einde van het pad rechts de asfaltweg op.
	Neem de tweede straat rechts.
	Sla linksaf aan de zwarte poort met nummer 10.
	Volg de weg en rij zo vlug mogelijk het fietspad op.
	Sla linksaf aan de vier liggende balken.
	Stop als Ca&co1 zich op 305° van u bevindt. Welk nummer van het knooppuntennetwerk vind je hier? Vermeerder het eerste cijfer van dit nummer met 10 en zet dan de uitkomst om naar een letter. Deze letter komt overeen met X8. X8= Neem het tweede cijfer van het knooppunt. Vermeerder dit met 7. Dit geeft je A. A=
	Ga links de baan op.
	Neem de eerste straat rechts.

As 'Heart of West Flanders' Roeselare is seen as a central base to explore the province by bike. However, remember that Roeselare itself is also worth to explore by bike. The city is veined with numerous municipal and provincial signposted routes. You’re not only exploring a vibrant and dynamic city, but also an oasis of greenery and tranquility just a few kilometers outside the center. This cache leads you through the center, past known and lesser known monuments and takes you to the quieter and greener parts of the city.

The tour is about 18 km long. You cycle through both the center and on quieter roads and bike paths. In several places, cars are not allowed, so we therefore recommend to retrieve your bike from stable and leave other transport at home. During the tour you will be asked questions in different places. The solution to these questions will help you determine the cache location.

	Drive immediately left onto the cycle path, then water is on your right.
	Go left at the end of the cyclepath.
	Take the second left (smal straatje). Along the way you drove by a famous person. The vowel that occurs once in his family name gives X2. X2= Add up all the numbers of the years under the family name and convert to one digit. This corresponds to E. E=
	Take the first right.
	Turn left before the bridge over the water on the cycle path.
	Go on the end of the cycle path to the right.
	Take the first left.

	Turn left into the path along the water.
	Turn left at the end of the path.
	Take the third exit at the roundabout.
	When Ca&co1 is on 40° from you, take the path on the right.
	Drive at the end of the path right, on the asphalt road.
