H and T: As usual the cache was still there, so after another request from Geocaching HQ to check our cache after a string of DNFs we brought it home and are archiving it.

Teemburra Dam was built in 1997 to provide water for irrigation and town water storage. It covers approx 1040 hectares and has an average depth of 14.2 metres. Currently it is full but during times of high usage islands emerge from the depths and launching your boat can be a bit of a mission. Teemburra has been generously stocked by the Mackay Area Fish Stocking Association with Barramundi and Sooty Grunter. In the wet season though when the dam overflows the spillway many of the barra are lost over the wall. The difficulty rating is only because it can be an area of high Muggle activity during fishing competitions or when the fish are biting so stealth is required but at other times you will be the only one for miles. The road accessing the dam is according to the road signs steep and winding and has an incline of 16 degrees in one place. Camping is not permitted.
