This is another cache in what is intended to be a series of caches placed along or near Old Coach Road, the series being designed to take you for a drive along the sealed Old Coach Road which was part of the main route between Tauranga to Opotiki before the main road in its current location was put in. The drive will take you on a meandering route from the main highway at Paengaroa through farming and kiwifruit growing countryside, past four thriving country schools to where it rejoins the main road at Otamarakau - or the reverse.

If you were standing on this corner several years ago, you may well have seen this man tearing up the country roads as he spent his youth just down the road from here, one of Pongakawa's more famous sons.
Sadly these days you are more likely to see hoons doing burn outs on this corner or the Benner Road corner of an evening. The rubber is frequently there for all to see.
Will any of these clowns ever reach the motor racing heights that can be reached with skill and dedication? Doubt it.
