Geocache Description:

This location contains historical markers about the town of Upperville as well as local Civil War history. In the early-to-mid-1900s, the site was also that of a school. Now, it exists as a park and ball field to be enjoyed by the community. This is the first cache that I have hidden. Welcome to the Village of Upperville!

Once upon a time, an Upperville School stood on this site. Children laughed and played, learned their ABCs and some were even driven to school by the community undertaker. After the school had closed, unfortunately the building burnt down and was never rebuilt. The area can still be enjoyed by children and families for fun and games, courtesy of the Parks and Rec department. Perhaps while you’re there, you may even find a cache to remind you that school was once in session.

Cache is placed with the permission of the Fauquier County Parks and Recreation Department. Please cache only between dawn and dusk. Due to uncontrollable factors of other visitors, the coordinates might vary slightly, but should still be close. BYOP.

Congratulations to Double's Crew for FTF!
