The cache is situated at the entrance to Plainfield Farm (known to most of Broadstone as "the rec"). The site has a bowling green, cricket pitch, play area and a number of football pitches. The landscaping is a mixture of woodland, woodland gardens, recreation ground and lowland heath.
In 2012 the area was designated a "Field in Trust" for the Queen's diamond jubilee, which should ensure that it is protected for use by future generations.
