I just moved to the central Texas area a few months ago. On my 1st big geocaching days, I set out to grab Mrs. Hi_Dudes Christmas Cache series. After a day of geocaching, I started my drive home are realized that I saw all of the team mascots that I had during my school days except 1. This covers 8 schools from junior high school through college including 1 of the places I taught.
When you figure out the mascot I did not see, you will know you are close to the final cache site. I have copies of all of the mascots below to help you with the solution – not that you will need them. You can assume 30 degrees North and 97 degrees West. The clues to the final location can be found in the following paragraphs.
I started junior high school at what is now called San Jose Middle School in Novato, California. It was built during the time of modular schools in the progressive California school systems in of the 1960’s. I spent 2 years here. My freshman year of high was in Mayfield, Kentucky where the football team averaged twenty-eight points a game. For my sophomore year, we moved to Southside High School in Alabama. It was a fairly new school where we only played eight football games the 1st fall and ten games the next year.
I finished up high school in Rantoul, Illinois where we won all but three games. The school for my freshman year of college had its name changed to Faulkner University. We did not have a football team but their basketball team lost five more games than they won. I finished my last three years at Murray State University. Eventually, I earned a graduate degree at New Mexico State University by being in the number one graduating class in the 2000’s. I was also fortunate enough to teach one semester for University of Maryland.
Be sure to say something about your school mascots when you write your log!!
