Night Cache
" Things that Come Out at Night!"
"This cache has been placed for the CARMH4 event. The cache should not be located prior to 7 PM, Friday, Aug. 16th. The caches for the CARMH4 event are released early so that the geocaching community has an opportunity to plan their routes prior to the event start."
Ever wonder what strange and weird creatures come out at Night?
I've run into all sorts of wildlife, from insects and deer while caching at night. If you're lucky, you might stumble upon a strange and elusive animal known as a Nite Cacher's. Most are timid and shy creatures that hate flashing blue and red lights. Most of them will have a good story for you, if you feed them late at nite. So, be prepared and grab a flashlight. Who knows... what strange things or creatures you might bump into in the middle of the night..
This short hike should get the blood flowing through your limbs as you traverse the top of the coulees. The terrain is uneven in spots has a few short dips but is easily walkable.
The parking corrindates shall bring you to the Redcliff Cemetary parking lot to start your adventure. There you can follow the red trail or gps to the posted corrindates. Where you will meet the Red Fox. Here, if you're quiet and lucky. You can hear the wind blow through the coulees, carrying the voices of other night creatures. Like the howling of coyotes or flittering of bats setting out for their nightly feed. If you're unlucky, the rustling of the nearby occupants of the Redcliff Cemetery.
The sly red fox will stay and point you in the direction of travel. He has left you a trail that can picked up only at night and be seen by a good flashlight. No need to cross any fences. They will keep you from venturing too close to the coulee edges.
Be wary! of deer and other creatures of the night that can be in the area. Follow the reflective markers.. they should be red or white.. continue in the same direction as marked unless you come to a stop.. shine your flashlight left or right and you should be able to spot the next marker.
The final is marked with two red hand markers. the cache is quite obvious.. once you spot it.. or it spots you..
