This is an 8-mile figure of ‘8’ walk comprising of 40 traditional caches. The pinch point in the figure of ‘8’ lies in the picturesque Kent village of Shorne, approximately 3 miles from Gravesend.
The 1st circuit takes you from the village of Shorne out to Gads Hill School in Higham. Gads Hill is the former country home of Charles Dickens before becoming an independent school in 1924. From here the circuit loops back round to the village of Shorne.
You will then need to walk through the village to the 2nd circuit. This loop takes you through some fields with far reaching views of the river Thames and outskirts of Gravesend before once more looping back to Shorne.
Shorne shenanigans pass several other caches en route including church micros (GC180VM, GC180DP, GC1907G), clambers (GC1QGXN) and other traditional caches if you wish to extend the walk. If you are a puzzle solver then look at some of the near by unkown caches.
Whilst creating this circuit the GPS was bouncing about rather considerably and so some of the cords may be a little wild, especially in Court wood where there is dense tree cover, therefore I have tried to give in depth and clear clues to help guide you…. I suggest you use them!
Have fun and good luck.
