This cache is placed at the Rainbow Beach Conservation Area in Northampton, MA. Rainbow Beach is known as a popular spot as a remote beach on the Connecticut River. Some sections of this area are roped off to preserve the endangered Puritan Tiger Beetle. Please do not bypass these barriers! This cache must be obtained by boat. The beach is open from dawn to dusk but please CITO and respect the area. At the northern tip of the beach is a small trail that will bring you very close to the cache. Prepare for a quick find at the river's edge! Beware of muggles, ESPECIALLY in warmer months, though the spot should be secluded enough. There is a Boat Launch near the Norwottuck Rail Trail.
The former route of access for this cache has been modified. Due to enough research, the former route of access has been deemed a violation of trespassing so the cache MUST be accessed by boat, which is still legal, unless you want to risk trouble that I will not be liable for. I hope discussions continue to permit easier recreational opportunities in this area in the future, but for now, I must set the Terrain to a 5.
