Geocache Description:

A traditional cache at the site of a historic cricket game in 1862.

This geocache marks the site of the first defeat of an English XI cricket team by a Victorian team. The match was held at Wattle Flat Reserve in March 1862. Near the cache is a plaque commemorating the game. The Victorian team was from Castlemaine but it had more than 11 players (read the plaque). England scored 148 runs, but how many runs did the Castlemaine team score?

The reserve has been used for bicycle races in the past and now for pony club events.

The cache is small and hidden and contains a log, pen but no swaps. Please replace in exact position found with lid on tight - watch out for muggles if an event is on. Good luck.
