Geocache Description:

Odyssey themed geocache near (but not in) Sandbanks Provincial Park.

This cache was created by  bellarosee, lauraleeanne, and papapogs while on a tour of an outdoor theatre production of "The Odyssey" with Driftwood Theatre. The cache has an Odyssey theme with a 'Cyclops', a 'Siren', a 'Telescope', and two 'gold coins' for the FTF!

The Odyssey is the ancient story of Odysseus and his ten year adventure to get home after the fall of Troy. He encounters Lotus Eaters, Cyclops, Six headed monster named "Scylla", a witch named "Circe", visits the land of the dead, and loses every man on his ship before finally reaching his home, wife and son. Once reaching his island, he encounters 100 suitors trying to steal his wife and fortune, and slaughters them all to claim his land. One of the oldest adventure stories and a lot of fun to play under the stars!!

The cache is a small camo'd lock n' lock located near the cottage that we stayed at for a week while on tour, and had such a wonderful time with Barb and Howie, that we thought a cache to remember our time here would be fantastic!

Two "gold" coins for the FTF! Enjoy!

There are several ways to access the cache but as Odysseus learns sometimes the best way to get to the treasure is the long way around.

Congrats to kenlaur for the FTF! **BIG THANKS to Jeff, Danika, Roxy and Lexie for their help on this one! The original cache has been replaced by a brand spanking new one, thanks to our geocaching pals, so that the Odyssey can continue. Remember, whenever you are on an adventure, the kindness of strangers, can make the journey a lot easier! **
