Fun, safe tubing requires some preparation. A good, reliable floatation device is required. Lifejackets are strongly recommended. Wading, and swimming will be necessary at times. Weak, or nervous swimmers should not participate. Waterproof enclosures are necessary for phones and GPS devices. Food and water should be packed for this event as the full event could take up to 12 hours or more. Sunscreen is a must. First Aid supplies would be a bonus.
The water will range from just ankle deep to several feet deep. The water may be fast moving in some sections of the river.
For those tubers who desire a shorter day, plan for an alternative exit from the river at: N43 40.082 W79 55.510, Glen Williams Park. Parking is available at the entrance point, and at both exit points.
Also, you will need to buddy up for this event. We will need cars available at both the starting point, and the exit points, to shuttle participants back to their cars at the starting point.
If you are looking to hook up with some buddies to arrange car pooling to and from start/finish, please indicate so in your will attend logs.
Packing a plastic garbage bag is recommended so that you have something to keep car seats dry for your return trip.
