Geocache Description:

One of the last farmsteads in Fair Lawn stood on this site. The house built by Henry A. Hopper in 1855 was razed for road improvement in 1989. He was a Sheriff and Freeholder of Bergen County and served in the State Legislature. In 1919 William M. Croucher, Sr., bought the farm and with his sons, Percy, Clarence and William worked the land as a truck farm until 1953.

I found this spot by accident. Decided to take a walk one day and noticed the Historical Marker. Quite a hidden gem, for an off ramp...

My First Hide - with the help of JSpeedy!

Note that there is no direct parking.  You will need to park off a side street, noting that some streets forbid parking from 8-10 am M-F.  This accounts for the Terrain rating.

BE CAUTIOUS - You will need to cross at two or clearly labeled on/off ramps for Rt 208, depending on which side you come from.

Notes

  • Hanging bison (as of 5/18/19).
  • BYOP
