Join us for some geocachers camaraderie, fun, and, of course, the final souvenir for the 31 Days of Geocaching. During this event, everyone will have the opportunity to share a special summer geocaching experience. Additionally, for those who wish to participate, young or old, we will have a "white elephant gift share."
If you are unfamiliar with a white elephant gift exchange, according to Wikipedia, it is a popular holiday game found primarily in North America. White elephant exchanges have been known to result in playful rivalries between players trying to get sought after gifts. The goal of a white elephant party is usually to entertain rather than to gain. The term "white elephant" originally referred to a less-than-serious gift.
The gift exchange will begin around 6:00 pm. I hope everyone chooses to participate. Gifts brought are not meant to be super-serious. Gag gifts make for a more exciting and fun time.
- Bring one wrapped "gift" for exchange valued at no more than $5 for each participating member of your family/group.
- Gifts MUST BE completely wrapped and/or disguised.
- Gag gifts are highly encouraged.
Ideas for gifts are:
A Ready-to-Place Geocache
(a container w/log sheet, optional: pencil, swag, etc)
OR
Geocache Swag
(something you would place/leave inside a cache)
Please bring your Travel Bugs and/or Geocoins to drop or discover!
