This should be a quick to find cache placed on the northwest (!) far end of the Trail River Crossing. Plenty of room to park your rig while searching for the hide - just remember to leave room for other very large recreational vehicles to get around you, as this is the route to the 91-space Trail River Campground - one of Chugach National Forest's finest RV and tent-camping sites with an amazing stretch of cobble beach along Kenai Lake.

Take a moment after making your find to walk carefully out on the bridge. Note the contrast between the river upstream of the bridge and the river downstream of the bridge. Just a few hundred feet below this point Trail River spills into Kenai Lake, at one of the finest places to cast from the beach for trout late in the summer.

During the winter this roadway may be closed at the gate close to the highway. You can still stroll or cross-country ski back to this crossing. The campground itself operates from late May until the first Monday in September.
