Geocache Description:

THE CACHE IS NOT AT THE POSTED COORDINATES. This cache is a tribute to my fellow cacher Jedireitz. August is his birth month, and I wanted to celebrate it with a puzzle cache. The background image is Jedireitz at WWFM-X. From the official Star Wars website, the Jedi are "a noble order of protectors unified by their ability to tap into the power of the Force. The Jedi are the guardians of peace and justice... To become a Jedi requires the deepest commitment and most serious mind."

You will need to solve the following puzzles to obtain coordinates A and B.

PUZZLE A - LIGHTSABER MASTERY: To wield a lightsaber, a Jedi must have wisdom and clarity of vision. For this puzzle, you will need to solve a series of jumble type clues. Each of the clues will use nine of the ten letters of "L-I-G-H-T-S-A-B-E-R." No letter is used more than once for each clue. You will use the leftover letter from each puzzle to solve the equation needed to find coordinate A.

PUZZLE B - FACE YOUR FEARS

“Fear is the path to the dark side.” A true Jedi warrior must face their fears. Because each person’s fears are as unique as their DNA, no two people have the exact same fears. Below you will find a list of common and not-so-common fears. There is also a word search which contains all the fear, but the terms within the word search are their scientific phobia names. You must seek out the names of the fears.

(Some of these fears have more than one common name, but only one will appear in the search)

Within the word search, only the prefix of each phobia can be found. For example, agoraphobia, appears in the word search as ‘agora.’ Once all the words are circled, you will have leftover letters. Copy the leftover letters beneath the puzzle.

(Copy and convert to Courier New font, or there is a picture version in the image gallery) You should have 24 leftover letters. Copy them from top-to-bottom, left-to-right. These letters are an encoded Vigenere cipher. To find coordinate B, you must decode the cipher. The encoding keyword is four characters in length and the most obvious choice. Search your feelings..

!!! Update: The cache has been moved from its original location. Solve the above puzzle, then subtract 30 to get the new value for B.

After being muggled twice at the original GZ, this cache has been moved to a nearby home. It is now a camo'd matchstick tube with a cache-themed guardian.
