Geocache Description:

Dunan Mor Cairn

This cache is a 500 ml cliplock container with logbook and pen with room for swaps and trackables.

Dunan Mor Cairn is beside and easily accessed from Forestry Commission road.

Dunan Beag Cairn and Standing Stone is close by. It is a short diversion from the main Forestry Commission road and is accessible by following the path past the Dunan Mor Cairn and down hill. The first part of the path over the grass is not very distinctive; so a keen eye is required to follow it. It is steep in places but is a very interesting and enjoyable walk. The Cairn and Standing Stone are in a very tranquil grassy area that is surrounded by trees.

Update to original listing.

Since my last visit there have been new sign posts erected and the paths have been cut making them much easier to follow. At the Cairn and Standing Stone the long branches have been cut away making access to the second Standing Stone much easier.

Dunan Mor Cairn, Dunan Beag Cairn and Standing Stones can be done on there own as a short walk along the forestry road about three quarters of a mile from the car park at the top of the Brodick Lamlash road or as part of a circular route about 7 miles, taking in Holy Isle View, Dun Fionn, Dun Dubh and the Clauchland Hills or there is an alternative low level return route.
