In the 1870's track was laid from the Great Northern Railroad to Mineola. This was a game changer for Lindale.
Lindale built a cannery and soon became the berry capital of Texas. At the turn of the century, berries and produce were Lindale's mainstays.
1891 was a great year for Lindale and the world.
This was the year the removable pneumatic bicycle tire and basketball were invented.
It is my guess, the young men who left there mark had little idea that 122 years later we would look upon their work!
