Geocache Description:

You can hike, bike, snowshoe, or cross-country ski to this series of caches hidden along the Georgian Trail. Some of the caches in this series are micros, so please bring your own writing utensil. Parking options are listed on the Cacheopoly #1 page.

This series of caches consists of fourteen traditional caches and one puzzle cache. Each traditional cache contains the dice roll for either of two players - Dog and Car. With each roll of the dice, these two players move around the Classic Monopoly Board, buying any available properties that they land on, or paying the required rents to the other player. Once all of the fourteen traditional caches have been found, both the Dog and the Car will have had seven turns. At this point, perform the necessary calculations to find the Final.

To track your progress around the board as you find the fourteen traditional caches, you should print out a copy of the Monopoly Board on this listing. If you've forgotten to do so, then there are a limited number of copies of this board in Cache #1. You will need to also track the players' cash balances as you go. The Final cash balance for each player will be needed to calculate the coordinates for the Final. The beginning board position is given to you, as well as the beginning cash and property positions for each player. Only the most basic Monopoly rules will be used in this series, but you must be familiar with how rents are determined and paid for the different properties, with and without houses. See the rent cards below, and view the Classic Monopoly rules at Wikipedia Monopoly.

Side 1 Side 2 Side 3 Side 4 Railroads and Utilities

Starting Position:
Dog - on Free Parking Space - Has $2100 cash - Holds all three yellow properties (Atlantic, Ventnor, Marvin Gardens), each property having one house on it - Holds two railroads - Reading, Pennsylvania - Other properties held - Indiana, Pennsylvania, Vermont
Car - on Just Visiting Jail space - Has $2200 cash - Holds all three orange properties (St. James, Tennessee, New York), each property having one house on it - Holds one railroad - B&O - Other properties held - Electric Company, Mediterranean, Boardwalk, St. Charles Place

A quick example:
Dog lands on Car's New York property which has 1 house. Dog must pay $80 to Car. Dog's cash balance is now $2100-$80=$2020, while Car's cash balance is now $2200+$80=$2280. Carefully keep track of the cash balances for each player after each roll and move.

Note that if you are attempting to solve the puzzle while "in the field" then you'll need to attempt the caches in order. However, if your approach is to gather up all of the necessary data to complete the puzzle at home, then the order will not matter.

Good luck and remember, Cache In, Trash Out.
