Whew, that was close! Traditional Cache

This hike is about 3 miles round-trip across bare, uneven and cracked lava rock. Be sure to bring water, sunblock and good shoes.

Beyond the cache Kaimu Beach [GCGB2G] is a raised fault block known as the Hakuma horst. In 1990 this 20m high fault scarp diverted the lava flow eastward into the heart of Kalapana and eventually into Kaimu Bay.
