Anyone up for a nice walk in Pisgah State Park?
This cache is part of a series placed along a section of the Old Chesterfield Road and the Lily Pond Loop. There are some interesting rock formations, ponds, beaver dams and a nice seat with a great view (and a cache) along the trail near the Lily Pond. The Lily Pond trail is a little rougher trail than the road and may be tough to bike with a few downed trees to cross.
Parking at the end of the Old Chesterfield Road gets you closer to the Lily Pond Loop, but the road isn't always available. If you do take this route a high clearance vehicle is recommended. I had no trouble with my car. Lots of parking at either parking area.
All the caches along the trail are small 3"x3" Lock-N-Locks except for the micro at Lily Pond.
