Log can be accessed from the top without removing container from it's position holder so no need to bother the hasp or the lock. Leave the box on the post but do replace the duck, please do not take it. BYOP. Please carefully replace the duck to its original position. Pictures welcome.
Duck is home for some great people who are happy to be here as well as a growing number of quality Geocaches. This cache is out in the open and should be a quick snag although you may have to think about it or wait for an assortment of Muggles to clear the area.
You do not need to move the container to open it. Container is detachable but it is not necessary to move it unless some ant-Muggle detection activities are required. If moved please make sure container is secured back in place.
Duck is one of several northernmost North Carolina towns within Dare County. It is one of the most popular resort destinations on the east coast of the United States. Incorporated on May 1, 2002, Duck is also the newest town on the Outer Banks. Duck is known for outdoor recreational activities, summer events and concerts, watersports, fine dining, world class shopping, art galleries, and a nationally-known jazz festival. Sunsets are a good time to search for this cache because the sun setting on the sound is beautiful. You will be in a downtown business area so be alert for Muggles at virtually all hours.
This cache replaces a hurricane damaged one placed a feet away from here where Kizer proposed to the girl that became his wife -- they celebrated their first anniversary on 5/25/2009. The container is available all hours of the day and night but area security precautions and procedures may cause later regrets and inconveniences if discretion is not used.
