The present church building dates from around 1180, although it would not have had a tower at that time. This was added in 1672. In 1910 a vestry was built on the site of the north chapel. The vaulted chancel is lit by the large east window. The font is dated at around 1200 and the restored oak lectern is 15th century. The support pillars are all of a different design. There are some plain glass windows and some interesting stained glass windows, which are worth looking at in more detail. If you look at the street a few yards south of Ely cathedral, near the Priors House, you will see that the facades on each side look exactly like the inside of this church. The church has a large active congregation and the building itself is used for a variety of events throughout the year. Outside, over the west doorway is the inscription “Take heed, watch and pray for ye know not when the time is S. Mar. 13,33”.
