The hilltop was once open farm land that is now a cleared area for the management of wildlife. A few old trees dot the landscape. The underbrush, including lots of wild blueberries and blackberries, hasn't grown up enough to block a wide-ranging view of the surrounding hills.
You are looking for a cyclindrical, insulated container hidden in the one possibly obvious spot. The hide is not necessarily winter friendly but may be findable if you are not distracted by the logging detritus nearby.
Parking is available for a couple of cars on East Glen Road. The location is marked by a yellow gate and a large sign; Leyden Wildlife Mgmt. Area, Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife. It's unlikely that the area will be plowed in the event of snow.
Use of this area is from sunrise to sunset. Hunting is allowed in this area.
