Geocache Description:

Cache placed on the town of Cison di Valmarino, a beautiful village on the north on the Treviso territory

Cison di Valmarino is permeated in every corner by centuries of history.
Walking through its streets is a must not only for those who love peace, nature and striking views, but also for fans of stories in arms and honor.
Certainly the particular city best known is the beautiful medieval castle that stands imposingly on the spur of the Col de Moi, a few hundred meters from the city center.
In the past fulcrum of political power and landmark of the piedmont area, the residence of the Counts of Valmareno and mayor's office of administrative and judicial offices, the entire complex has been recently restored and used as accommodation and conference venue . Within its walls, one with in modern comforts, the visitor can relive stories of battles and duels, of dames and knights of Gattamelata and Brandolini, the latter family which for centuries held the fief of Valmareno.
Leaning instead by massive ramparts, having abandoned the enchanting view, the gaze will fall for sure, a little further down on the small historic town of Cison.
The comings and goings of tourists and villagers that animate the streets, the small square dressed up to the nines, neighbors mowed fields crossed by dirt roads along at a trot and the surrounding hills, are an irresistible attraction for lovers of hiking, of horseback riding, healthy living and good food.
The village square still retains all the elegance and charm of the past. Where once echoed the voices of the knights of the court of Merighi, clerks, find a place with distinctive bar, the charming town church, the town hall and the impressive building of the theater La Loggia, once the seat of the county court, which now houses the upper floors, an unmissable "gem" of the Radio Museum.
A few hundred meters to the north of the city center, you can visit the production facilities of the time: the Cantine Brandolini, expertly restored, the old dairy and the remains of the water mills of yesteryear, nestled along the Ruio.
The mild climate and strategic location within a particularly sheltered sunny amphitheater formed by the surrounding hills make Cison Valmarino a popular tourist destination throughout the year. And every moment the pleasant center of high Marca does not fail to reveal to the attentive visitor particular always new and exciting.
Many, scontatamente, specific events and entertainment that cisonesi, proud and hospitable, offer to tourists and villagers.
Well worth it, and for all, to quote the famous exhibition of Crafts Vivo that the first ten days of August draws from every where tens and tens of thousands of visitors.

The cache is a nano-sized and inside contains only the logbook. Bring a pen and happy caching!
