Greatland Reviewer: Hello AKBurque:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack of response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If you would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Geocache Description:

The cache is hidden on what supports a lot of information transmitted from around the world and to the state of Alaska. There is no need to unscrew or undo anything like that to get the cache. I have permission from the owner of this property.  It is an easy park and grab (or walk and grab if on a cruise ship) so enjoy it without disturbing anything and it will live a long time. Bring your own pencil and sign small ok?

In case you're from out of town, you might be interested in what's going on around town.  Inside the building next to this cache is the home of Juneau's three public radio stations and it's public TV station -- a great way to tune in and find out what's happening around town.

If you're from Juneau, you're probably already aware of the public radio and TV stations on some level, but may not have been aware of where the physical building was located.  (Except that probably half of you either work/volunteer here or know someone who does).

Community volunteers founded Capital Community Broadcasting in 1972, CCBI started service to Juneau on January 27, 1974, with a 10-watt radio station and heavy commitment to local service, community access and diverse viewpoints.

Today, KTOO provides a variety of public services throughout Alaska. KTOO News 104.3 offers a diverse range of news and music programs and is the most-listened to radio station in the Juneau radio market.  KRNN 102.7 provides a broad mix of music and arts & cultural programming, while KXLL 100.7 offers music and public service targeted at a younger audience.

360 North TV is Alaska’s public affairs channel. Part of the statewide offerings of Alaska public television, it is the most widely distributed television channel in Alaska offering a full-time schedule of Alaska programming, public affairs specials, documentaries, historical programs, Alaska Native interest shows and coverage of Alaska government.

Through unique partnerships with sister stations, KTOO collaborates to extend and support public broadcasting throughout the state. CoastAlaska, an independent but closely related non-profit association, providing engineering, fund raising and administrative support to radio stations throughout Southeast Alaska.

Feel free to go around the bulilding to the front doors and say hello if you're in the area during business hours. Congratulations goes to GeoScout907 for First to Find.
