In late September 2013 a group of Mid Cornwall Cachers will be camping near Pentewan. This is the first of 3 supporting events being held around the main event. This event is hosted by spooky_luke and everyone is very welcome to attend, even if you aren't camping.
Please note that this event is only 15 minutes long!!!
Flash mob = A group of people who assemble in a predetermined location, perform some brief action and then quickly disperse!
In order to claim this event, you must be present on the bridge and drop your numbered duck (provided on the day) into the stream when you hear the duck call! Your duck will then need to make its way downstream (without any help!) to spooky_luke. The first one to reach him will be declared FTF and will win a prize (an unactivated Halloween trackable).
At precisely 19:00 BST on Friday, 27th September 2013, a duck call will sound and Geocachers should toss their ducks in to the water at the above coordinates. They should make quacking sounds to encourage their duck to go faster! You should keep these shenanigans up for 5 minutes (or longer if your duck is slow!) We will then congregate for a group photo on the bridge and I will award the FTF prize to the winner.
At 19:15ish, we will all disperse, although everyone is welcome to come back to the campsite for further geonattering!
Although not compulsory, any fancy dress that you may have and are mad enough to wear will obviously make the event more of an experience
As it should be dark by the time this event happens, it would be sensible to bring a torch and to dress warmly. This event will take place even if it is raining, so in the event of bad weather, please dress appropriately.
There is free parking around the published coordinates. People walking to the event from the campsite may wish to use the footbridge at N50 18.116 W004 47.972 and follow the path along the river.
