The entrance - La entrada - der Eingang




The 'Cueva de San Marcos', formerly also called the 'Cueva de los Guanches' because the Guanches buried their bodies in the entrance part of the cave,  is a large lava tube of 1.8 km of extension (similar but not as large as the very well known 'Cueva del Viento') in the village of San Marcos in the north of the island. The geological formation of the tube was very similar to the 'Cueva del Viento', it arose at the same time and if you are interested, there is plenty of information about it on the Net.
There is even notion, that the 'Cueva de San Marcos' connects to the 'Cueva del Viento' at some point though the connection has not been discovered yet.

This cache brings you into the first part of the tube and you are invited to explore it even further as I did on my first visit.

To go for this cache you need: A helmet with headlamp, a good torch (better 2 - if you run out of light you will be lost), good shoes, long trousers, knee pads, be free of claustrophobia, a partner (NEVER EVER try this alone).

To get to the cache you:
- Study the plan of the tube. You have to 'walk' from 'boca inferior' to 'boca superior'.  
- Get to the entrance of the cave as described by the coordinates
- Enter the tube and proceed until you see daylight.
- Climb up to the cave with the daylight
- Search for the cache in that cave. I highly recommend to have the spoiler picture with you though there are not many hiding places in the cave.

La 'Cueva de San Marcos' anteriormente mencionada también como 'Cueva de los Guanches', porque los Guanches enterraron sus cadáveres cerca de la entrada de la cueva, es un tubo volcánico de una extensión de 1.8 km (similar pero no así largo que la mucho mas conocida 'Cueva del Viento') en el pueblo San Marcos en el norte de la isla. La formación geológica del tubo era similar a la 'Cueva del Viento', nació al mismo tiempo y si te interesa hay mucha información en la Red.
Se supone también, que la 'Cueva de San Marcos' conecta a la 'Cueva del Viento', aunque no se ha encontrado la conexión ya.

Este cache te traiga dentro de la parte primera del tubo y te invito explorarlo más, como yo lo hize durante mi primera visita.

Para visitar este cache necesitas:
- Un casco protector con lámpara, una linterna buena (mejor 2 - cuando se apaga la luz serás perdido), zapatos buenos, pantalones largos, rodilleras, ser libre de claustrofobia, un compañero (NUNCA te vas solo).

Para llegar al cache:  
- Mira el plano del tubo. Debes 'caminar' de la 'boca inferior' hasta la 'boca superior'.
- Camina hasta la entrada de la cueva como descrito por las coordenadas
- Entra en el tubo  y adelanta hasta notando la luz del día. 
- Sube a la cueva que tiene la luz del día
- Busca el cache en esta cueva. Recomiendo mucho tener la foto spoiler contigo, aunque no hay muchos escondites en la cueva

Die 'Cueva de San Marcos' früher auch 'Cueva de los Guanches' genannt, da die Guanchen ihre Toten im Eingangsbereich der Höhle beerdigten, ist eine große Lavaröhre mit  einer Länge von 1.8 km (ähnlich aber nicht so groß wie die sehr bekannte 'Cueva del Viento') im Dorf San Marcos im Norden der Insel. Die geologische Entstehung der Röhre war ähnlich der 'Cueva del Viento', sie entstand zur selben Zeit und wenn Du intererssiert bist, es gibt im Netz eine Menge Informationen darüber.
Man nimmt sogar an, daß die 'Cueva de San Marcos' eine Verbindung zur 'Cueva del Viento' hat, auch wenn sie bis jetzt noch nicht entdeckt wurde.

Dieser Cache bringt Dich in den ersten Teil der Röhre und Du bist eingeladen, sie noch weiter zu erforschen so wie ich es bei meinem ersten Besuch getan habe.

Um diesen Cache zu besuchen benötigst Du:  Einen Helm mit Kopflampe, eine gute Taschenlampe ( besser 2 - wenn das Licht ausgeht, bist Du verloren), gute Schuhe, lange Hosen, Knieschützer, frei  sein von Klaustrophobie, einen Partner (versuche das NIE alleine)

Um zum Cache zu finden:
- Schau Dir den Plan der Röhre an. Du mußt von 'boca inferior' bis zu 'boca superior' 'laufen'.
- Komm zum Eingang der Höhle wie in den Koordinaten beschrieben.
- Geh in die Röhre und geh vorwärts, bis Du Tageslicht siehst. 
- Klettere zu der Höhle mit dem Tageslicht hoch
- Suche den Cache in dieser Höhle. Ich empfehle sehr, das Spoilerbild dabei zu haben, obwohl es nicht sehr viele Verstecke in der Höhle gibt.
