Geocache Description:

The Sharks Teeth & Fossils Event

Please NOTE: The D/T could change depending on the weather due to being outdoors

This event is suitable for families and dogs.  However always please be aware of all safety signs near the cliffs, the many steps to the beach (These can be slippy) and tide times in the nearby area.  The event will be hosted just before low tide.

The cliffs and beach can often also be wet with loads of clay, mud and sand, so spare clothes and welly boots maybe an option for some

Always stay SAFE!

The idea for event has been create for like-minded geocachers to have a meet and greet outside the Naze Links Cafe.  With a chance to swap trackables and maybe even some sharks teeth and fossils.

The event will aim to start at 10:00 am with a meet and greet (log book signing, maybe a flash mob photo, etc.) then about 10:30am a sharks tooth and fossil hunt down on the beach and along the front of the cliff face to the end and back again (or you can carry on around the seawall if you wish).

At the event venue weather permitting "The Nazeman" will also have his stall setup at the event.  In which he will be hopefully able to answer many questions about the geology of the Naze, wildlife, Naze habitats, fossils and "Bringing the Naze Alive for ALL"

He has some amazing information packs, maps and naze walks which will hopefully be available on the day

For more details Google the "The Nazeman" or "Nazeman Education Trust"

Also if your interested in learning more about fossils and safety tips there are some excellent websites out there just Google discovering fossils at Walton on the Naze

I hope to also have a new theme related traditional cache released as well for the event.  However there is an Earthcache at the event venue which is definitely worth getting and the event will hopefully help you complete this if you haven't already.

Any questions let me know
