One of nearly 4 dozen geocaches placed along a 160-mile length of the Bear River between Niter (Idaho) and the Bear River Bird Refuge (Utah) in the summers of 2013 and 2014. Geocache numbers refer to the distance in river miles below the Cove Powerhouse southwest of Niter where we began our long canoe journey. It was our intent that most caches in this series could only be accessed by floating the river, thereby encouraging others to explore and enjoy the "Bear" for themselves.
This cache is located at the tail of an island about 1/4 mile below the Smithfield-Amalga bridge. The container is a small yellow plastic capsule hanging in the shade about 5 feet above the ground. BYOP.
