Geocache Description:

When I first started geocaching there was a pair of caches between Devil's Dyke and Truleigh Hill. One is still there, but the other one was archived. I thought I would resurrect the archived cache.

Congratulations to JellyfishGFP for the FTF!

The original cache, "There and Back Again - Truleigh Hill" (GC15HNZ) and its sister cache "There and Back Again - Devil's Dyke" (GC15HP7) was owned by Orchards Finest. However, the Truleigh Hill cache was compromised when the cache disappeared as did the information source for the multi-stage coordinates. As a result the original cache was archived. This new cache could suffer the same problems, however, I'm hoping that this will not be the case.

The main difference between this new cache and the original one is that I have placed an additional step into the cache. I came across a location in my travels that begged to be included in a cache, so that it why there is an additional step. Apart from that everything is the same (although the final location is also different, nearby but different).

You will start at Devil's Dyke and travel west to Truleigh Hill, a return journey of 7kilometres (>4 mile) or, if completed with the sister cache, "There and Back Again - Devil's Dyke" (GC15HP7), 10km (>6 mile) round trip.  On your journey you will pass the site of the Fulking Grange smallpox isolation hospital (1901 - ?) and other views, many of which are superb on a clear day.

Free parking is available here for members of the National Trust, for everyone else it's £2 a day.

The listed coordinates are for three view point information boards (one of which is now missing). Use these to obtain the coordinates of a bison tube cache which contains the coordinates of the next stage.

Stage 1 - The Bison is at:
N 50° (I.O.W. + Chanctonbury Ring).(Cowfold Monastery – Steyning – 1)(Shaves Wood – 1)(Truleigh Hill + 1)'
W 000° (Shipley Windmill + Shaves Wood + 1).(Truleigh Hill)(Chanctonbury Ring)(Cowfold Monastery / 2)'

Please note that there are gorse bushes within the vicinity of the Bison cache. Inside the Bison is the coordinates for the next stage, Tibby and Tiny.

Stage 2 - Tibby and Tiny
At Tibby and Tiny you will find two set of dates. For Tibby AB Jan 19CD, for Tiny EF Jun 19GH.

N 50° (A + B) C . (C – D) (F + H) G'
W 000° A (A + B) . (C – D) (C + D) B'

This will give you the coordinates for the final location (Stage 3) and the cache.
