johndaygeorge: Some people seem to want to take this cache and since it has been missing for a few weeks, I am archiving it. Sorry.

Ahoy There! This is the third cache I have placed in this area. The first two were "lost" when renovations of the area were done by the city. It is now nano-sized.
Nestled in the shadow of the Old Youngs Bay Bridge, the nearby red building housed the Astoria Yacht Club for over 50 years until the club’s recent move to the Port of Astoria’s West End Mooring Basin on the Columbia River. The Old Youngs Bay Bridge, built in 1921 to carry Highway 101 traffic over Youngs Bay, still handles considerable traffic, but its Highway 101 duties were taken over by the New Youngs Bay Bridge (1 1/2 miles west) which opened in 1964. Moored here are some of the area’s gillnet fishing fleet, and amongst them are net pens used to raise salmon fingerlings before their release to make their trip to the Pacific Ocean. Bald Eagles frequent the area, and in the SE distance lies Saddle Mountain. Cache only contains a log, so please bring your own pencil.
