Geocache Description:

This is a traditional cache located a short distance off the trail on the southern side of Birch Point Beach State Park:

The Poppers Penguin family and a couple of friends are very excited to place our very first cache!  In our opinion, the view of the Mussel Ridge Islands here is one of Maine's finest so make sure to stay a while and enjoy it.

If you are visiting Owls Head, be sure to also visit the Owls Head lighthouse and enjoy some good eats at the General Store.  The Transportation Museum is another must see.

We loved the forest path on this side of the beach with its thick carpet of moss.  When searching for this one, if you come upon markings indicating "Private Property", you have gone too far!  Please stay in the State Park boundaries.

Cache is a plastic fishing tackle box that is stocked with the typical swag.

Enjoy!

Note: There is a State Park visitor fee during the summer season
