Geocache Description:

I pass by this parking lot all the time always wondering why there isnt a quick park and grab cache here... The wondering stops here. This container is small with a few peices of swag inside.

This Geocache is located in the Pearl River Station parking lot. Looking around for a spot tp place the cache and I saw a stream which I never knew existed....Must be the river in pearl river. HaHa! Thanks to some fellow geocachers I found out this river is called Muddy Creek on the map. I researched it and here is some history, Pearl River was a portion of land made up of woods and swamps originally called Muddy Creek.[6] In the early 1870s, the town was divided into five different parts: Middletown, Sickletown, Pascack, Muddy Brook, and Naurashaun. There are conflicting accounts on how Muddy Creek came to be named Pearl River. According to some historians, a town resident named Dr. Ves Bogert found small pearls in mussels that thrived in Muddy Brook and, upon hearing this, Mrs John Demarest, the wife of the president of the New Jersey and New York Railroad, suggested the name "Pearl River" to her husband.
