Geocache Description:

This cache is placed beside the Pulp Paper Trail at Burnie.  The trail is along the foreshore at South Burnie across the highway from the paper mill that was a major employer in the Burnie area from 1937 to 2010 when it closed.

The pathway is meant to look like a long sheet of paper unrolled from a reel. One of the information boards says that at the peak of production the No 10 machine would have taken just 60 seconds to make paper the length of the 600 metre track.

At intervals along the track there are information boards about the papermill's history and the people who worked there.  Please take the time to walk the length of the track and learn about the mill that is currently being demolished to make way for a hardware store and other businesses.

The first cache on this trail is at the eastern or bridge end of the track, near the Emu River.  You will be in a fairly exposed position at GZ so please be careful. Please replace as found so the cache doesn't get muggled.
