Geocache Description:

Filton is a town in South Gloucestershire, England, situated on the northern outskirts of the city of Bristol,

The town centres upon Filton Church, which dates back to the 12th century and is a grade II listed building.

The name of the town comes from the Old English feleþe (hay), and tūn (farm, field). The name dates back to at least 1187.

Filton has produced many aircrafts from the Bristol Boxkite in 1910, The Bristol Brabazon Airliner in 1940-1950, the Valcan V Bomber, and most famously Concorde.

Concorde G-BOAF touched down at Filton after her final flight to crowds of spectators. Where she now resides. View Point N51 31 17 W2 35 22
