I remember the day I met SGF. I had contacted him about some of his hides that I was going out for in the Maidu area with my family and a friend of mine. He and his four adorable little treasure hunters had gone out that same day for a hike and do a little cache maintenance.
As my group hiked their way down the road, we had trouble finding one of his caches so we skipped it and figured we'd come back to it on our way out. SGF was headed that way and he later told me that there was a baby rattle snake guarding the cache. I was so glad we DIDN'T find it!
