Aus alten Unterlagen geht hervor, dass um 1635 am Raning und im Lichtengraben Gold abgebaut wurde. Mehr als 30 Gewerke sollen hier tätig gewesen sein. Man findet noch 2 Stellen, einer unter der 1. Straßenkurve von Wisperndorf Richtung Raning und der alte Knappenbauerstollen. Man parke entweder kurz vor dem Knappenbauer links in einer Kurve, entlang der Strasse oder gehe von oben durch den Wald zur Knappenbauerruine. Von hier auf altem Knappenweg ca 100 m östlich, dann beim alten Zaun ca 40 m steil bergab. Östlich davon sieht man große Felsen. Oder man gehe entlang des Baches und biege dann links ab.
