For several decades... this site housed an old metal bridge with a wooden platform. It was a popular teen hangout for hiding from parents and partying... as well as for daredevil dives into the creek below. Some considered it haunted and came here to face their fears. But for almost two years... this was the site of a daredevil cache placed by 87prelude20a3 at the top of the rusty old bridge. I personally attempted to retrieve this cache twice... but couldn't get my nerves to cooperate with my desires. Hanging out out in midair over the water below was just a bit much for me I guess. And before I could attempt to push my nerves to their limit and grab this one... the county decided that the old bridge on this gravel road needed replaced.
The Old, Scary Bridge
The old bridge came down in December of 2012 and a new, modern, concrete bridge was put in its place. With the new set-up... I can't easily put a cache of the same difficulty and terrain rating in this location. But in tribute to the challenge of a cache that was placed by 87prelude20a3 and to those that dared seek it... I place this one at the same location. May you enjoy your visit to this peaceful creek even if you've not been here before. And may you remember fond times caching here if you sought the previous cache.
