Geocache Description:

Part of the Amazing Race (GC4EY92) event cache! The BLUE checkpoint! For those who haven't took part in the event, now you have a chance to re-experience the fun of hunting the checkpoints!

A palindrome is a word, phrase, number, or other sequence of symbols or elements, whose meaning may be interpreted the same way in either forward or reverse direction.

For example,

English name: Ada, Bob, Hannah, Otto
English phrase: “Rats live on no evil star”, “Eva, can I stab bats in a cave?"
Chinese phrase: “油麻地遍地麻油”
Chinese poem: “小巷殘月凝天空,親人故土鄉情濃。笑聲猶在空懷舊,憔心客愁滿蒼穹。穹蒼滿愁客心憔,舊懷空在猶聲笑。濃情鄉土故人親,空天凝月殘巷小。” Japanese word: “日曜日”

So, you can easily understand that 101, 575, 969 are palindrome numbers. Also, most of numbers can refer to a palindrome number by several reverse-and-add processes (iterative process of repeatedly reversing its digits and adding the resulting numbers).

For example,

163 >> 163+361 = 524 >> 524+425 = 949

748 >> 748+847 = 1595 >> 1595+5951 = 7546 >> 7546+6457 = 14003 >> 14003+30041 = 44044

By 2 iterations, 163 can refer to a palindrome number, I call P(163) = 2
By 4 iterations, 748 can refer to a palindrome number, I call P(748) = 4

The cache location:
N 22° 18. P(78) P(94) P(296)
E 114° 13. P(688) P(799) P(1063)

P.S. In fact, not all numbers can refer to a palindrome number by above process. The smallest known number that cannot refer to a palindrome number is 196. This kind of numbers are named as Lychrel numbers.
