Talbot Park is a well maintained small public park/reserve in Oakleigh South. Facilities include a gazebo with two BBQs (and lights if you visit after-dark) a scattered bushland setting with a walking track around two small lakes, a modern well maintained playground, basic but useable toilet facilities and two Bocce courts. Bring the kids for a play, or pack a BBQ ... or just come for a quick visit and find the cache.
While walking around the park on a windy winter day, I spotted something that was so typical of a cache-hide that I had to check it did not already contain a cache. Since the hiding spot was empty, I returned to the car for a container, put it in place and took the GPS coordinates - a perfect, ready made, (and very typical) cache hiding spot.
The cache is kid-friendly, has room for small swaps, but it's also situated well away from the playground and other facilities. However, if you visit during wet-weather, don't blindly follow the path ... or you might end up with wet feet.
