We decided that our first cache should be placed in Mauritius during our first visit there to meet my fathers family. We knew this was the location the second we drove up to it from our apartment that was 500m away! I don't think it is on any tourist guides so welcome to The Dodo Scuplture Garden, or Dodo Island it came to be known to us all!!
To locate the cache you will need to stand at one of the shrines that is located on the edge of the fencing. They are recessed from the edge so it is safe to stand by them. Looking behind the shrine and over the fence you will locate the cache (we did check that it was OK to place it here but I don't think they are keen for anyone to jump the fence and enter the garden itself).
The cache is a clear plastic container with small sheets in for log entries to be made. Initial items are 2 Welsh magnets and some Dodo matches!!
This is our first cache so we aren't making it hard and it should be easy to find. I just hope it is there if someone goes to find it!!
Don't forget to have a look at the sculptures and I recommend the Flic en Flac beach.
