Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the Lowca end of the route, at the start of the cycleway. There may be muggles about, especially children and dog walkers, so please try not to be observed when you rehide it.

Walk the Line is a series of caches linking Lowca and High Harrington along the cycleway, which follows the route of the old railway. Locals describe the walk/cycle as "goin' down t'line'. The route is tarmaced and suitable for walking, cycling, horses and pushchairs. It is a bit narrow in places, and can get busy at weekends, especially in good weather.

The rail line carried coal and bricks (from the Lowca pit and Micklam brickworks) between 1913-1973, and the terraces in Lowca are old Coal Board houses - the ex-miners still have a fuel allowance, so in winter you will see a lot of smoking chimneys.

You will need to bring a pen or other writing implement with you.
